Recycling & Sustainability

Recycle your razor blades. Keep them out of landfill.

FFS Beauty was the first razor subscription brand to offer blade recycling. Post your used blades back to us and we separate and recycle every component, metal and plastic, instead of sending it to landfill.

How to Recycle your Blades

Recycling your FFS blades takes four steps: shave, collect, post them back, and we handle the rest.

1. Store the Blades

When a blade is spent, store it safely inside the plastic casing your refills arrived in.

2. Package Blades

When you are ready to return your blades, package them safely (you can use one of your ffs boxes)

3. Send to Us

Send your blades back to us & we’ll do the rest!

4. We separate them

The blades are ground down to break the materials apart. Metal and plastic are separated, then every component is sent to be recycled.

Why recycle your razor blades?

Disposable razors are one of the bathroom's biggest waste problems. Recycling and switching to reusables cuts that waste dramatically.

1,000 years

A single disposable razor can take up to 1,000 years to biodegrade in landfill.

40–50 a year

Most disposables give around three shaves before the blade dulls, so the average person bins 40–50 every year.

2 billion

An estimated 2 billion plastic razors end up in landfill every year, with many more reaching waterways and oceans.

Packaging built to be recycled

All FFS packaging is 100% recyclable, and we avoid the black plastic that recycling machines can't detect.

100% recyclable packaging

Every piece of FFS packaging is recyclable. Reuse it to store your blades for return, or pop it in your home recycling when you're done.

No carbon black caps

Standard black plastic uses carbon black, which absorbs near-infrared light and slips past recycling sorting machines, so it ends up in landfill. We don't use it.

Recycling FAQs

As many or as few as you like. There's no minimum.

We've partnered with Fortress, a family-run recycling company based in the Midlands, to manage the process. Once your blades arrive, they're stored until we have enough to process. They're then ground down, the metal and plastic separated, and all components recycled.

Yes. All our packaging is recyclable and can be placed into your paper and card recycling.

Most of them can be, as long as they're rinsed out first. We'd recommend checking with your local authority to confirm what they accept in your area.

No. We only accept ffs blades.

Yes, and here's what that actually means. We were the first razor refill plan brand to offer blade recycling. Our packaging is 100% recyclable. Our razor handles are made close to home. Switching from disposables to a reusable razor keeps thousands of single-use razors out of landfill. One disposable can take up to 1,000 years to decompose.

Our blades aren't made from recycled materials, but they are recyclable. Send them back to us and we'll make sure they're recycled rather than going to landfill.

Switch to a razor worth keeping

One reusable FFS razor replaces dozens of disposables a year — and the blades come back to us for recycling.
